Doll set presented to President
George H. W. Bush

15 years ago I made two porcelain dolls – images of an American boy as a baseball player and a Russian schoolgirl. (I was born, raised and lived in Moscow, Russia for 40 years). I made the dolls look like twins to represent my equal love for each of my countries - America and Russia. Another reason is to show the similarity in character I see between Americans and Russians. The dolls were presented to former President Bush and First Lady Barbara Bush.

My collection of porcelain character dolls started with these two dolls and since then I have created many other dolls conveying the personalities of historical, literary, movie, and theatrical characters.

Polina's Dolls Program Polina

The Program contains a combination of original topics, education and entertainment. For many years I presented my dolls to different groups of people. And every time I witness a miracle. A child wakes up inside a grown up. People become so emotionally excited. I would like them to believe that all of us have a creative energy. My dolls are my way to express this energy. This is the main idea of the Program.
