Polina's Dolls Program

“I have always felt that dolls, if they are beautiful, should be displayed as work of art.” -Erte

My program is a collage of dolls, times, eras, fashions, and fantasies. My intention is to create a visually dynamic, entertaining and educational program. I also hope, by my program, to give voice to the undeniable grace and enchantment which doll art continues to bring into our lives. My collection of porcelain doll-images has been in the making for 15 years. I have done extensive research on the subject for each doll, in order to assure that it will accurately express its own unique personality. The characters are taken from literature, movies, theatrical plays, historical people, or from today’s charming young woman. Dolls can talk, but their language, like any form of art is specific.

This program gives us the opportunity to know:

• What inspires me as their creator to make that particular character
• Wonderful stories about each unique image the dolls represent
• The research and study involved in the process of the creating each doll image

This is why I am not only the creator, but I am also available as a speaker for my porcelain doll images collection.
